Bayer Leverkusen Acquires Mario Hermoso on Loan from AS Roma

The German champions sign the Spanish defender following a season-ending injury to Jeanuel Belocian.

Bayer Leverkusen has secured the services of Spanish defender Mario Hermoso on loan from AS Roma until the end of the season.
The move addresses the absence of 19-year-old defender Jeanuel Belocian, who is out for the season due to an ACL injury.
Hermoso, 29, brings extensive experience, having played 174 matches for Atlético Madrid between 2019 and 2024.
Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, highlighted Hermoso’s versatility, noting his ability to play as both a center-back and left-back.
The loan deal does not include a purchase option, and Hermoso remains under contract with AS Roma until mid-2027.
