• Dylan Veselic, a Bay Village High School sophomore, passed away Thursday morning after being struck in the head by a lacrosse ball during a game on Tuesday evening.
• Despite wearing a helmet, Veselic suffered a severe head injury, underwent surgery, and was in critical condition before his death was confirmed.
• The school canceled Thursday's lacrosse match and scheduled a prayer service and vigil at St. Raphael’s Church in Bay Village to honor Veselic and support the community.
• Counselors and the school psychologist have been providing support to students, staff, and Veselic’s teammates since the incident occurred.
