Overview

• Dylan Veselic, a sophomore at Bay Village High School, suffered a fatal head injury during a lacrosse game against Olmsted Falls on May 6.
• The injury occurred when Veselic was struck by a ball in the back of the head, just below his helmet, while attempting to block a shot.
• He was transported by ambulance and airlifted to a hospital for emergency surgery but passed away on the morning of May 8.
• As of May 8, over $36,000 has been raised to support the Veselic family, and meal trains have been organized to assist them.
• A vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 8 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, and the school district is offering counseling services to students and staff.
