Bay Area Unveils Varied July 4 Festivities

Organizers are urging spectators to use public transit to ease crowding at events ranging from fireworks displays to parades.

Overview

  • San Francisco’s annual fireworks show will launch at 9:30 PM from Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf.
  • Alameda forecasts over 60,000 spectators for the nation’s longest Fourth of July parade along a 3.3-mile route, preceded by an 8:30 AM 5K run.
  • Foster City and San Jose have canceled traditional fireworks displays due to construction constraints and public safety concerns.
  • Napa, San Pablo and Pinole will showcase synchronized drone light shows beginning at approximately 9:30 PM.
  • Other Bay Area municipalities have released schedules featuring community parades, live music, food vendors and children's activities throughout July 4.
