Bay Area T.J. Maxx Theft Ring Raided With Eight Arrested and $380,000 in Goods Recovered

Multi-agency warrants followed a months-long probe sparked by a May tip from T.J. Maxx investigators.

Overview

  • Deputies served search and arrest warrants on August 12 at four homes and a storage unit in San Jose, Mountain View and Gilroy.
  • Investigators linked the crew to at least 80 thefts with about $53,000 in recorded losses at T.J. Maxx stores.
  • More than $225,000 in stolen items and drugs were seized at a Dobern Avenue home in East San Jose, with over $100,000 recovered at a Giannotta Way residence.
  • Those arrested, ages 19 to 66, face counts including organized retail theft, conspiracy, grand theft and receiving stolen property.
  • Authorities say eight suspects remain at large, three identified as Juan Molas, Kevin Calderon and Jacobo Giron, and they released images and an [email protected] tip line.
