Overview
- On July 17 investigators searched 17 apartments in Dingolfing-Landau, Landshut and Kelheim targeting 16 men and one juvenile suspected of sharing child pornography via messenger services
- The child-pornography operation netted mobile phones, computers and other data carriers but resulted in no arrests, with a data-sniffing dog assisting in evidence collection
- On July 18 the Zentralstelle Cybercrime Bamberg probed five men aged 25–27 accused of running an illegal paid streaming network and seized about €500,000 in cash and cryptocurrencies
- Two streaming suspects, including a 25-year-old software developer, remain in pretrial detention and one is also accused of instigating severe child sexual abuse and producing illicit content
- Authorities warn that the vast volume of digital data seized across both operations will require extensive forensic analysis before charges can be brought
