Battlefield 6 Sets Oct. 28 Start for Free Season 1 With Monthly Updates

EA is promising all gameplay-affecting additions free or earnable to rebuild trust after launch.

Overview

  • Season 1 unfolds in three phases—Rogue Ops on Oct. 28, California Resistance on Nov. 18, and Winter Offensive on Dec. 9—with new content in each drop.
  • Two new maps are confirmed: Blackwell Fields arrives first, followed by Eastwood, plus a limited-time Ice Lock update that freezes the Empire State map in December.
  • New modes include Strikepoint for 4v4 single-life rounds and Sabotage for 8v8 objective destruction, with Battle Pickups returning as a map-based power-weapon feature.
  • Additional items include the Traverser Mark 2 APC, multiple weapons and attachments through the season, and an Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon tied to the Ice Lock event and its Freeze mechanic.
  • The main game launches on Oct. 10 at 8 a.m. PT with no early access and preloads beginning Oct. 3, while the separate battle royale mode remains without a confirmed date.
