Overview

  • Weekend 2 of the open beta runs August 14–17 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, introducing the infantry-only Empire State map and returning Rush and Squad Deathmatch modes.
  • Daily playlist rotations and an Initiation Mode for players below rank 15 aim to diversify match experiences and help newcomers learn the game with AI opponents.
  • Custom Search matchmaking lets players prioritize preferred map-mode combinations without providing a full server browser, though match placements remain subject to availability.
  • Lead producer David Sirland confirmed that larger, slower-paced maps are in development and will be revealed soon after feedback on the beta’s high-tempo small maps.
  • DICE continues to deploy fixes for fast time-to-kill reports and helicopter control issues while scaling servers and enforcing anti-cheat measures ahead of the October 10 launch.
