Battlefield 6 Launches Casual Breakthrough With Full XP Versus Players, Reduced Versus Bots

The update offers a lower-pressure path to progression under stricter XP protections.

Overview

  • Casual Breakthrough is live in the Multiplayer tab and currently rotates on Siege of Cairo and Empire State.
  • Matches field two teams of 24 with eight human players and 16 AI per side to ease the intensity of standard PvP.
  • Players can earn Career XP, Weapon XP, Battle Pass XP, and complete challenges, but dogtags, accolades, and career stat updates are not granted.
  • Battlefield Studios says it will monitor feedback on the mode and consider adjustments based on player response.
  • Separately, the team made temporary XP changes in Strikepoint to keep progression fair while it investigates an XP issue and continues broader anti-farming measures, including reduced XP in unverified Portal experiences.
