Battlefield 6 Labs Opens Today to Test Server Browser, Persistent Servers, and Large Maps

The closed sessions will trial a Portal-only server browser with persistent player-hosted servers to validate large-scale balance ahead of launch.

Overview

  • EA and Battlefield Studios have reopened Battlefield Labs sign-ups and begun new pre-launch tests across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S under NDA.
  • Testers get a first look at a work-in-progress server browser limited to Portal, with evaluation of persistent player-hosted servers included with the game purchase.
  • Two large maps—Operation Firestorm (a Battlefield 3 remake) and Mirak Valley—are in rotation to assess vehicle combat, gadget balance, and overall flow, with early Hardcore Mode settings also under review.
  • EA detailed PC features and specs, including 4K with uncapped frame rate, ultrawide support, native Steam support, and 600+ customization options, with NVIDIA confirming DLSS 4 and EA materials noting support for Intel XeSS and AMD FSR.
  • Battlefield 6 will use the new Javelin anti-cheat and requires Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, HVCI, and VBS-capable systems on PC, with launch set for October 10.
