Overview

  • Covite recorded 168 acts of public support for ETA between January and June, marking an 11% decline from the same period in 2024.
  • Sortu, EH Bildu and their affiliate Sare organized the majority of these events, Consuelo Ordóñez of Covite said.
  • Demonstrations demanding the release of ETA prisoners made up 91 actions, followed by 32 graffiti campaigns, 12 public tributes, nine festivals and one aurresku dance.
  • Support acts were heavily concentrated in Bizkaia (65) and Gipuzkoa (60), with further incidents in Navarra (27), Álava (9), other provinces (4) and Iparralde (3).
  • For the third consecutive year no ongi etorris welcoming ceremonies have been recorded, signaling a shift in how support for released prisoners is expressed.
