- Taupa publicly launched its year-long ‘Eusfera’ initiative to boost children’s daily exposure to Euskera at home, in leisure and sports, targeting a peak action period from May 7–17, 2026.
- At its Dec. 14 assembly, UEMA declared 2026 the year to consolidate a new language-policy framework and pursue legal protection for Euskera, citing 2036 projections as alarming; Urdiain and Zeberio were approved to join, bringing UEMA to 120 municipalities.
- Bilbao City Council and Euskaltzaindia renewed their cooperation agreement on Dec. 15 to promote and normalize Euskera in the city, extending over two decades of joint cultural programming and linguistic advisory work.
