Overview

  • The Basque Government began representing Spain’s coastal autonomous regions in the EU Council of Ministers on fisheries matters for the second half of 2025 under Denmark’s presidency.
  • On July 15, the executive approved a €3 million aid package for Basque fishing and aquaculture producer organizations with calls to be published later this month.
  • Of the total funding, €2.1 million comes from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund and €900,000 from Euskadi’s regional budget.
