McGinnis was a two-time ABA champion with the Indiana Pacers and a three-time All-Star in both the NBA and ABA.
He was a key figure in Indiana's basketball history, having played at George Washington High in Indianapolis, Indiana University, and the Indiana Pacers.
McGinnis was known for his combination of physical strength and skill, and was one of the few players to have been an All-Star in both the ABA and NBA.
He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017, and his jersey, No. 30, is one of only four to be retired by the Pacers.
