BART Police Involved in Shooting at Union City Station

A woman was shot by BART police following a traffic stop for alleged reckless driving.

A female suspect, identified as Jasmine Gao, was shot by BART police after a confrontation during a traffic stop at Union City Station.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Monday night in the station's parking lot.
Gao is in serious but stable condition at a hospital and faces multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
Both officers involved have been placed on administrative leave as standard procedure while the investigation continues.
BART’s Office of the Independent Police Auditor is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting.
