Baroness Mone and Husband Under Investigation Over PPE Contracts

The couple's firm, PPE Medpro, is being sued by the UK government for £122m, following contracts worth over £200m awarded during the pandemic.

Baroness Michelle Mone and her husband Doug Barrowman are being investigated by the UK’s National Crime Agency over allegations of fraud and bribery surrounding their company, PPE Medpro.
PPE Medpro, a consortium led by Mr. Barrowman, was awarded contracts worth more than £200 million to supply gowns and face masks during the pandemic.
Baroness Mone admitted she lied when she denied having links to the firm PPE Medpro, and she and her family stand to benefit from the £60m in profits made by the company.
The UK government is suing PPE Medpro for £122m plus costs for “breach of contract and unjust enrichment”.
Mr. Barrowman accused the government of using the NCA “to threaten criminal proceedings” to make the couple reach a settlement.
