Overview
- Student association Udu Bari reported that an unnamed lecturer made the comments during a Medicine “semestre filtro” lecture at the University of Bari Aldo Moro.
- The lecturer was alleged to have said Medicine should be pursued only by those from a liceo classico or scientifico and that a 25-year-old would be better off delivering pizzas.
- Udu Bari collected testimonies from students present at the end of the class and publicized the account on its channels.
- Executive member Adriano Porfido said the concern centers on the remarks’ impact on a diverse cohort facing intense pressure, including older or more vulnerable students.
- The group requested a face-to-face meeting so the lecturer can apologize and clarify the remarks, and reports so far include no official response from the university.
