Barclays Outage Disrupts Online and Mobile Banking for Thousands on Payday

Customers across the UK report being unable to access accounts or process payments as Barclays works to resolve the issue.

Barclays customers faced widespread issues accessing online and mobile banking services on January payday, the last Friday of the month.
The outage impacted payments in and out of accounts, leaving some customers unable to receive wages or pay essential bills like rent.
More than 3,000 outage reports were logged on monitoring site Down Detector, with the majority related to mobile banking functionality.
Barclays apologized for the disruption, stating it is working to resolve the technical problems and will notify customers when fixed.
The bank confirmed that cards and cash machines remain operational, but assistance via telephone or messaging services is unavailable.
