Overview

• During the Paris 2025 closing ceremony, Mayor Jaume Collboni accepted the symbolic Grand Départ trophy and officially assumed Barcelona’s role as host city.
• The first stage will be a 19.7 km team time trial traversing the Fòrum, the Sagrada Família and two ascents of Montjuïc before finishing at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
• Stage two charts a 178 km coastal route from Tarragona to Barcelona via Sitges and the Begues climb, capped by three laps of a Montjuïc circuit.
• The third stage departs from Granollers en route to France, marking the end of three opening days across Catalonia.
• A shared €9.7 million hosting deal with the City Council, Generalitat and Diputación will spotlight Catalonia’s maritime and mountainous assets and support expansion of Barcelona’s 270 km cycling network.
