Barcelona name Deco as new sporting director to replace Alemany

Barcelona appointed former player Deco as new sporting director on a three-year deal.
Deco will also take over duties from outgoing director of football Mateu Alemany.
In the role, Deco will oversee philosophy and squad composition with the coach.
Deco's appointment fulfills May agreement between President Laporta and Alemany.
Deco has already worked with Alemany and coach Xavi on recent player recruitment.
