Barcelona Metro L4 Reopens VerdaguerMaragall as First Upgrade Phase Ends

  • TMB confirms the VerdaguerMaragall stretch is back in service as the initial phase of works concludes.
  • From September 1 to 7, the MaragallTrinitat Nova segment and L11 between Trinitat Nova and Casa de l’Aigua remain closed with replacement buses.
  • TMB forecasts full normal service on L4 and L11 on September 8, aligned with the start of the school year.
  • The €20 million TMB works include six kilometers of new concrete track, anti‑vibration rail fixings, new interlockings, four renewed track devices, and a Guinardó shaft slated to become a ventilation gallery.
  • A separate €62 million signalling modernization led by the Generalitat continues through 2029, with a concentrated L4 shutdown between Urquinaona and La Pau planned around December 6–8.
