- Barcelona will operate 400 climate shelters this summer, 26 more than in 2024, under its Pla Clima strategy from June 15 to September 15.

- The expanded network ensures full coverage in 33 heat-vulnerable neighborhoods including Besòs, Nou Barris, Ciutat Vella and Sants-Montjuïc.
- Street informants will be deployed in high-risk districts to guide residents, especially older adults, to nearby shelters, ensuring 99% have one within a ten-minute walk on weekdays.
- The map now features eight places of worship, three shopping centers and 11 microrefuges such as local pharmacies to boost proximity.
