Overview
- Calle Muntaner will be closed between Laforja and Marià Cubí from August 10 for 13 months to construct an emergency exit for the new FGC L8 tunnel.
- The Departament de Territori and Barcelona City Council have reversed traffic on Amigó, expanded Via Augusta to two lanes each way and reconfigured the Via Augusta–Balmes intersection to absorb diverted flows.
- Bus line V13 has been rerouted via Madrazo, Amigó and Travessera de Gràcia before returning to Muntaner under the new traffic scheme.
- Civil works that began in January 2025 are advancing at the Gran Via shaft, Plaza Espanya access and Parc de Joan Miró logistics area ahead of tunneling due to begin in early 2026.
- The €400 million L8 extension will link the Llobregat-Anoia and Vallès lines with a four-kilometer tunnel designed to boost ridership and cut road traffic and emissions.
