Barbie Surpasses Parasite to Become Most Popular Film on Letterboxd

Despite Losing to Oppenheimer at Golden Globes, Barbie Triumphs on Letterboxd and Sets Box Office Records

Barbie, a surrealist comedy directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie, has become the most popular film on Letterboxd, surpassing Parasite and Fight Club.
The film, which also stars Ryan Gosling as Ken, has grossed $1.446 billion at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing comedy of all time and the first to gross over $1 billion.
Despite losing to Oppenheimer in every major category at the Golden Globes, Barbie has outperformed it on Letterboxd and was also awarded the Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
Barbie has been watched by 2.8 million users on Letterboxd in the past six months, compared to 3.4 million users who have seen Parasite in the past four years.
Speculation is rife about a potential sequel to Barbie, but director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie have remained non-committal.
