Barbie, the movie, has broken the Critics Choice Award Nomination record this year with 18 nominations, the highest ever in the award show's nearly 30-year history.
The film has been nominated in nearly every major category, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Margot Robbie), Best Supporting Actor (Ryan Gosling), Best Supporting Actress (America Ferrera), Best Director (Greta Gerwig), and Best Original Screenplay (Gerwig & Noah Baumbach).
Oppenheimer and Poor Things followed closely with 13 nominations each, including for Best Picture.
The 29th annual Critics Choice Awards will air live on January 14, 2023, on The CW, with Chelsea Handler returning as host.
Barbie also scored the most nominations for next year’s Golden Globes, indicating a potential dominance in the upcoming awards season.
