Overview

  • The DW Rundfunkrat chose Massing in the first round for a six-year term starting October 1, 2025.
  • She follows Peter Limbourg, who served as Intendant from 2013 and did not stand for re-election.
  • Massing, who joined DW in 2006 after working at Arte Deutschland, is the first woman to lead the broadcaster.
  • Her agenda prioritizes efficiency, digital innovation and a more inclusive corporate culture at the government-funded broadcaster.
  • The opaque selection process, held behind closed doors without public candidate information, faced criticism for its lack of transparency.
