Bannu Reports 134 Militant Attacks in 2025 as Police Detail Raids and Anti-Drone Gains

Officials credit anti-drone deployment alongside intelligence raids for curbing drone attacks.

  • Police said 27 officers were martyred and 79 injured in attacks targeting stations, checkpoints, vehicles and patrols across the district this year.
  • Authorities reported 20 militant drone strikes that killed nine civilians and injured 33 civilians and 19 police personnel.
  • An anti-drone system installed on July 18 reportedly thwarted more than 300 attempted strikes and neutralised four drones.
  • Bannu police conducted 168 intelligence-based operations, arresting 105 suspects and eliminating 65, with overall retaliatory actions killing 53 militants and injuring 163.
  • Joint raids in Miryan, Haved, Daud Shah, Mamand Khel and Domel killed 22 militants and led to four arrests, as officials also highlighted new fortifications, surveillance gear and jirga-led peace committees.
