Overview
- The RBI calendar designates the second and fourth Saturdays as holidays, while the first, third and any fifth Saturdays are working days.
- Internet and mobile banking, UPI, NEFT/RTGS and ATMs continue to operate during branch closures.
- Cheque clearing and other over-the-counter services governed by the Negotiable Instruments Act are not processed on designated holidays.
- Assam will observe a state bank holiday on August 25 for the Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva.
- Ganesh Chaturthi closures are set for August 27 in Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Odisha and Tamil Nadu, with Odisha and Goa also closed on August 28 for the festival’s second day/Nuakhai.
