Bangladeshi Court Seizes Tulip Siddiq’s Flat and Imposes Travel Ban

A Bangladeshi court has ordered the seizure of a Dhaka flat previously owned by Tulip Siddiq and imposed a travel ban on her as part of an anti-corruption investigation.
The Bangladeshi Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) accuses Siddiq of benefiting from embezzled funds, land grabs, and money laundering linked to her aunt, Sheikh Hasina, the ousted former prime minister.
Siddiq denies all allegations, calling them false and politically motivated, and claims the flat was legally transferred to her sister in 2015.
The ACC alleges Siddiq used forged signatures in the flat transfer and sought to conceal assets to avoid investigation, claims her lawyers refute as unsubstantiated.
Siddiq’s resignation from her UK government role in January followed scrutiny over her familial ties, with the ACC accusing her of benefiting from a nuclear power plant deal with Russia.
