Bangladesh Investigates Attack on Publisher Displaying Taslima Nasreen's Book

The interim government, led by Muhammad Yunus, has condemned the violence at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair and ordered a probe into the incident.

A group of madrasa students attacked the Sabyasachi Publication stall at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in Dhaka for displaying a book by exiled author Taslima Nasreen.
The attackers vandalized the stall, threw out Nasreen's books, and reportedly forced its closure despite the book being removed earlier.
Bangladesh's interim government, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, has condemned the attack as a violation of citizens' rights and ordered a thorough investigation.
Police intervened to control the situation, taking both the publisher and the agitators to the station for questioning, and have since increased security at the fair.
Taslima Nasreen, now living in exile, criticized the attack and accused the government of enabling extremist activities in the country.
