Bangkok Hotel Fire Claims Lives of Three Foreign Tourists

A blaze at the Ember Hotel near Khao San Road killed an American, a Brazilian, and a Ukrainian, with seven others injured as investigations continue.

The fire broke out on the fifth floor of the six-story Ember Hotel in Bangkok's popular backpacker district late Sunday night.
The victims include a 35-year-old American man, a 24-year-old Brazilian woman, and a 27-year-old Ukrainian man; seven others were injured, including two Germans and two Thai nationals.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which reportedly originated in Room 511, and are seeking three Korean men for questioning.
Firefighters rescued 34 of the 75 guests from the rooftop using crane trucks, while others were evacuated through other means.
Bangkok's governor has ordered city-wide inspections of fire safety measures in hotels and entertainment venues, emphasizing the need for tourist safety ahead of New Year's celebrations.
