Overview

• The complainant, Manasi Kulkarni, a 46-year-old yoga teacher, hired Kandivali East-based Max Packers and Movers for a Bandra-to-Lonavala shift on August 9.
• The four employees named in the case are Pappu, Pradeep Kumar, Khan and Ajay, who allegedly accessed a locked travel bag containing ornaments and documents.
• According to the FIR, one worker took a bag of old clothes and alighted at Kalanagar during transit, which the complainant alleges was used to carry the valuables.
• Kulkarni discovered the travel bag’s lock broken in Lonavala on September 7 and lodged a police complaint on September 15.
• Police registered the case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 316(2) for criminal breach of trust and 3(5) for acts in furtherance of common intention, and the investigation is underway.
