Bandra Police Arrest Honey Irani’s Driver in Rs 12 Lakh Fuel Card Fraud

Investigators say he confessed to years of bogus swipes that generated cash, with a petrol pump worker still being traced.

Overview

  • FIR No. 1668/2025 was registered at Bandra Police Station after manager Diya (Divya) Bhatia lodged a complaint on October 1.
  • Police have identified driver Naresh Ramvinod Singh, 35, and petrol pump employee Arun (Arun Amar/Bahadur) Singh, 52, and booked the case under BNS sections 3(5), 316(2) and 318(4); the pump employee is being traced.
  • The alleged misuse spanned April 2022 to September 2025 using three fuel cards that the driver said he obtained in 2022 from former driver Santosh Kumar.
  • Transactions were allegedly swiped at the S.V. Road petrol pump near Bandra Lake without refuelling, with cash handed back after deductions of about Rs 1,000–1,500 per swipe.
  • Irregular fuel entries such as a 62-litre refill for a car with a 35-litre tank triggered the review, and the total loss is estimated at roughly Rs 12 lakh.
