Overview
- Banco Macro unveiled MacroChat on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, replacing its menu-driven BancoChat while keeping the same WhatsApp number, 11 3110-1338, and migrating existing conversation histories.
- The service accepts text, voice and images so users can request balances, view movements, make transfers, pay bills, recharge phones, manage cards, perform cash withdrawals without a card and start account openings directly in chat.
- Generative models interpret user intent and the bank executes actions through its own APIs with identity checks, confirmation prompts and antifraud controls to prevent the AI from directly moving funds.
- The bank reported early use figures it supplied showing more than 1 million monthly users, over 2.3 million conversations and hundreds of thousands of transfers per month, and offers a seamless handoff to human agents when needed.
