Overview
- BMA365 Bamberg beat Alba Berlin 98-83 in the capital, defeating the reigning German champion before 9,060 spectators.
- Jordan Wright led Bamberg with 23 points, while Alba's top scorers were Jack Kayil and Joe Wierskamp with 16 points each.
- Alba played without key playmaker Martin Hermannsson and center Norris Agbakoko, the latter having undergone surgery after saying he heard a 'crack' on impact.
- Without a true center on the floor Alba struggled to rebound and to find an offensive rhythm, allowing Bamberg to build and hold a double-digit lead.
- The result follows heavy early-season losses for both clubs to Bayern and hands Bamberg momentum while increasing pressure on Alba to get injured starters back to defend its title.
