Baltimore to Expand Charm City Circulator Green and Orange Routes on Dec. 7

City leaders say the fare-free redesign targets underserved East Baltimore neighborhoods.

Overview

  • The Green Route will drop Fells Point and extend north to North Avenue, adding stops along Orleans Street and North Broadway and reaching the Inner Harbor.
  • The new Green alignment will loop around the Johns Hopkins Hospital campus, connect downtown via Orleans Street, and use Pratt Street instead of Baltimore Street.
  • The Orange Route will push deeper into Fells Point with a new stop at Maritime Park on Caroline Street.
  • Service changes take effect Dec. 7, with Orange buses running about every 10 minutes and Green buses about every 20 minutes.
  • Officials described the update as part of a longer-term equitable plan for zero-fare Circulator service funded by state grants and operated separately from MTA buses that charge $2.
