Baltimore Teacher Sentenced to 23 Years for Child Exploitation

William 'Zev' Steen pleaded guilty to filming and distributing child abuse, with community members aware but not reporting for years.

Steen, a former teacher at Bnos Yisroel of Baltimore, admitted to abusing a young girl from 2005 to 2011.
He recorded instances of abuse in 2008 and shared child pornography online, leading to his arrest in 2022.
Steen was also the director of a technology firm, giving him access to many community members' devices.
Despite awareness of his offenses, community members did not report him to authorities until 2022.
Steen will serve his sentence in Fort Dix, New Jersey, followed by lifetime supervised release.
