Overview

• On July 9, passersby discovered a roughly one-meter non-native ball python resting on a mailbox outside the BRK-Ruhesitz in Seehausen.
• Feuerwehr Seehausen personnel safely contained the snake and transferred it to the Polizeiinspektion Murnau.
• Murnau police transported the python to the Reptilienauffangstation in Munich for specialist care and housing.
• Authorities suspect the tropical snake was abandoned or escaped and note it could not have survived the approaching Bavarian winter.
• Polizeiinspektion Murnau has publicly urged the owner to come forward to reclaim the animal.
