A major failure of the Transmission System caused a power outage in numerous towns in Croatia on June 21, 2024. Split, Zadar and Omis remained without electricity. A special collapse occured in Split, Croatia where the traffic lights were not working which caused chaos in traffic throughout the city. The sirens of the emergency services were heard all around the city. The interruption of electricity supply affected several countries.
