Baldur’s Gate 3 Final Major Update to Introduce 12 New Subclasses in 2025

Larian Studios confirms Patch 8 will add cross-play, photo mode, and one new subclass for each class before shifting focus to other projects.

Patch 8, releasing in 2025, will be the last major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, adding 12 new subclasses, cross-play, and a photo mode.
Each of the game's 12 classes will receive a unique subclass, featuring new abilities, animations, and gameplay mechanics inspired by Dungeons & Dragons sourcebooks.
Key additions include the College of Glamour Bard, Path of Giants Barbarian, Death Domain Cleric, and Shadow Magic Sorcerer, among others.
The update will enable cross-play across Mac, Windows, Xbox, and PlayStation 5, allowing players on different platforms to play together seamlessly.
Larian Studios plans to conclude feature-heavy updates for Baldur’s Gate 3 and shift its focus to other projects, potentially including Divinity: Original Sin 3.
