Baldur’s Gate 3 Features Touching Tribute to Fan's Father with Alzheimer's

Larian Studios Honors Player's Father through In-game Character, Eliciting 'Child-like Glee' in the Honoree

Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3, have included a touching tribute to a fan's father, a long-time CRPG player living with Alzheimer's disease, in their game.
The tribute was revealed by the fan, known as Solfalia, who shared their experience of playing the RPG in early access with their dad, and their worry that his condition might prevent him from playing the full game.
In response to Solfalia's story, an anonymous writer from Larian, referred to as 'superwriter', reached out to Solfalia to include something in the game to honor their father.
The tribute took the form of an NPC named Golbraith Stredivas, a retired Mind Flayer hunter, who not only looked like Solfalia's father but also had multiple lines of dialogue and a hidden cellar.
Solfalia's father, now in a care home and unable to play the game himself, was described as having listened to the description of the tribute with 'child-like glee' and still talks about it during their weekly chats.
