Bald Eagle Foster Dad Successfully Raises Orphaned Eaglet After Caring For Rock

The bald eagle Murphy had been attempting to incubate a rock at a Missouri bird sanctuary when an orphaned eaglet was brought to the sanctuary after a storm.
Despite never raising an eaglet before, Murphy bonded with the chick and took on the role of foster parent.
Keepers had to take precautions to ensure the eaglet did not imprint on humans and see Murphy as its true parent.
Murphy had to be taught how to care for the eaglet properly but proved to be a devoted foster father.
The eaglet will be released into the wild once it is fully grown and able to fly and hunt on its own.
