Overview
- Authorities identified the suspect as Simranjit Singh Sekhon, 35, who was arrested Dec. 15 on a charge of rape of an unconscious person.
- Detectives say a 21-year-old customer was picked up in Thousand Oaks, became unconscious after the ride ended in Camarillo, and was then driven around and sexually assaulted.
- Sekhon was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility with bail set at $500,000 and remains in custody.
- A court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 17, as the investigation continues.
