Baker Mayfield, quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, responded to a comment from Detroit Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who suggested that the Buccaneers would be a 'great group' if they had a 'good quarterback'.
Mayfield retorted that Gardner-Johnson must not have 'really watched film' because he mentioned Russell Gage, a Buccaneers receiver who has been injured since training camp and hasn't played a snap all year.
Mayfield led the Buccaneers to a 9-8 record and an NFC South title this season, with a convincing 32-9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round.
The Buccaneers are set to face the Lions on Sunday in the NFC Divisional Round. Gardner-Johnson missed the Lions' 20-6 victory over the Bucs in Tampa in Week 6 due to a torn pectoral muscle.
Mayfield threw for a career-high 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, his first with the Buccaneers.
