Baja California Inaugurates Rebuilt Avenida Revolución Promenade in Tijuana

The project replaces decades-old drainage and upgrades utilities to underpin a push for downtown economic and cultural revival.

Overview

  • Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmedo led the formal opening of the pedestrian corridor on Avenida Revolución.
  • Works delivered include 4,550 m² of concrete and 1,350 m² of porphyry on pavement and sidewalks, plus quartz edging, benches, and lighting bases.
  • CESPT reported replacing deteriorated sanitary and hydraulic pipes and installing new connections after more than 50 years without an upgrade.
  • State and municipal authorities coordinated electrical and fiber‑optic installations as well as reforestation along the corridor.
  • Officials frame the rehabilitation as a driver for increased visitor traffic, stronger commerce, and the return of cultural programming such as music, circus, and theater.
