Overview
- Baidu’s fully driverless Apollo Go vehicles were added to the Uber app in Dubai on Thursday, August 20, 2026, with New Horizon Luxury Transport operating the RT6 robotaxis in Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah.
- Riders requesting UberX or Uber Comfort can be matched with an Apollo Go vehicle or choose a dedicated “Autonomous” option in the app, and each RT6 is an electric, three-passenger robotaxi fitted with more than 30 sensors including lidar and cameras.
- The Uber listing is the first live deployment under the companies’ multi-year partnership to put thousands of Apollo Go cars on Uber’s global network and tests a multi-partner aggregation model for autonomous fleets.
- Dubai Media Office reported the emirate’s robotaxi program has logged over 4 million kilometres and 7,613 passenger trips since launch, data that supports operator claims about real-world experience and safety.
- Dubai’s regulatory permits, dedicated insurance arrangements, and local fleet partners enabled the initial rollout and will shape any expansion to other cities where approval and platform integration are required.
