Bahia Authorizes Eight Public Hiring Exams for 890 Posts

The governor signaled a separate security recruitment package soon, with appointments from these exams beginning in 2027.

Overview

  • Authorizations cover 16 careers across core state functions including environment, public works, tax, regulation, public policy, the state attorney’s office and data production.
  • Sefaz will offer 100 auditor-fiscal and 100 tax agent posts, PGE plans 135 positions, and ADAB will open 160 agricultural inspector and 40 technician roles.
  • A further 120 posts will target public-works specialists and technicians, 110 will go to environment and water resources across Sema and Inema, with Agersa (40), SAEB EPPGG (50) and SEI (35) also included.
  • The government presented projected payroll impacts of about R$175 million in 2027 and R$178 million in 2028 for the 890 hires.
  • Bahia said a public-security package could be announced shortly, and a large Civil Police exam is possible under a January law creating 2,397 posts, while Alagoas separately announced a multi-sector concurso organized by Seplag.
