• Bagnaia topped FP1 at Motegi with a 1:44.857, finishing 0.093s clear of Aprilia’s Jorge Martin, with Marc Marquez 0.102s off in third.
• Fabio Di Giannantonio was fourth and Luca Marini fifth to complete the opening practice top five.
