Overview
- The shortlist features Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Miles Caton (Sinners), Archie Madekwe (Lurker), Robert Aramayo (I Swear) and Posy Sterling (Lollipop).
- The EE Rising Star is the BAFTA Film Awards’ only public-voted category, with ballots accepted via ee.co.uk/BAFTA, EE social channels and WhatsApp until 12pm on February 20.
- The nominees were revealed at London’s Savoy Hotel by Mia McKenna-Bruce with Ali Plumb, from a jury that included Joe Alwyn, Sheila Atim and Benedict Wong.
- Chase Infiniti and Robert Aramayo also appear on BAFTA lead performance longlists this year, while Miles Caton has won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Young Performer and earned a SAG nomination.
- BAFTA will unveil full film nominations on January 27, and the Rising Star winner will be announced on February 22 at the Royal Festival Hall in a ceremony hosted by Alan Cumming and broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer.
