- The season opened with a red-carpet gala and the premiere of Hinkel’s Shakespeare-inspired comedy “Sommernachtsträume”
- Hinkel concludes his seven-year tenure after guiding the festival to attract over 100,000 visitors last year
- At his farewell, Hinkel received the Hessian Order of Merit from Minister-President Boris Rhein in recognition of his leadership
- Elke Hesse, who previously served as Intendant in Bad Hersfeld, will take over as the festival’s new director
- The expanded program also includes “Die Räuber” with music by Die Toten Hosen, the Broadway hit “A Chorus Line”, the drama “Wie im Himmel” and the family favorite “Ronja Räubertochter”
